Saving, investing and borrowing on Blocs: how approval-first works
27 August 2026 · 5 min read
Why every savings plan, investment and loan on Blocs Finance goes through human review first, and what that means for timing and expectations.
Exchange is instant. Savings, investments and credit are not — and that difference is deliberate. Each of those products is a request that our team reviews before anything is committed.
What approval-first means in practice
When you create a savings plan, place an investment request or apply for a loan, you are submitting an application. It appears in your request list with a status, and a member of the team approves or declines it with a note you can read. Nothing is locked, invested or disbursed before that decision.
This is slower than a one-tap product, and that is the point. It gives a person the chance to check that the amount, the currency and the term make sense for you, and it keeps us within the rules that apply to regulated activity.
Savings plans
Three shapes are available: flexible, where you add and withdraw as you go; target, where you save towards a specific amount; and locked, where funds are held until a maturity date you choose. Returns on any plan are indicative until a plan is approved and active.
Investments
The catalogue covers stable-currency reserves in USD and USDT, fixed-income terms, market funds and treasury bills across several African markets. Each product shows an indicative return, a term and a risk level. Indicative means exactly that — a projection, not a promise.
Loans
A loan application asks for amount, currency, purpose, employment status, monthly income and term. Those details exist so that credit is offered responsibly and declined when it would not be. An approval comes with terms in writing; you accept before anything is disbursed.
Verification is a prerequisite
All three product families require a verified identity. If your account is unverified, complete verification first — the request forms will tell you, and the review cannot proceed without it.
